Frost's Curl-Salemme, Fleet's Babstock suspended 1 game
The PWHL suspended Minnesota Frost forward Britta Curl-Salemme one game for high-sticking and Boston Fleet forward Kelly Babstock one game for cross-checking, the league announced Saturday.
Curl-Salemme caught Fleet forward Theresa Schafzahl with a high stick in the head and neck in the first period of Thursday's game. She was assessed a minor penalty for roughing on the play.
In the second frame of the same game, Babstock cross-checked Curl-Salemme in the head and neck. She was given a minor penalty for cross-checking on the play.
Curl-Salemme scored the overtime winner and registered two points in the contest. She has four goals and six points through seven games to rank second in rookie scoring.
Babstock played 5:02 in her season debut Thursday after signing a 10-day contract earlier in the day. She was previously on Boston's reserve.
Minnesota takes on the New York Sirens on Saturday.
The Fleet face the Montreal Victoire on Sunday in the season's first neutral-site game in Seattle.
