Isaiah Bond: I'm going to break the 40-yard-dash record
Texas product Isaiah Bond is confident he'll become the fastest prospect to ever run the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine.
"I'm going to break the record tomorrow, for sure," Bond said Friday, according to ESPN's Todd Archer. "I anticipate running 4.20, or, possibly, if I'm feeling great, I might run a 4.1."
The record was set by current Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who ran a 4.21 40 last year. Worthy also is a Texas product, though he never played with Bond, who transferred to the Longhorns in 2024.
Bond added that he's achieved a 4.23 in training. He's confident his training will pay off at the combine.
"I've been running my whole life," Bond explained. "I've been one of the fastest my whole life, so I'm going to go out there, and when practice meets preparation, greatness is achieved. So I'm just going to trust my training and put on a show."
Bond is scheduled to run the 40-yard dash Saturday.
