The first matchup of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs has been locked in: The Carolina Hurricanes will take on the New Jersey Devils.
The Devils punched their postseason ticket with the New York Rangers' regulation loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday.
Home-ice advantage for the matchup has yet to be officially determined, but Carolina currently holds a seven-point lead on New Jersey for second place in the Metropolitan Division. The Washington Capitals already clinched the top spot in the division.
The Hurricanes and Devils previously met in the second round of the 2023 playoffs, which Carolina won 4-1.
