DeBoer shuts down links to Penn State: 'Extremely happy at Alabama'
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer put an end to rumors linking him to other coaching jobs, including Penn State, by sharing his level of satisfaction at his current gig.
"We're extremely happy at Alabama," DeBoer said Thursday, according to ESPN's Mark Schlabach.
"We're extremely happy here, love the challenge, love the grind, love this place. There's never been any link, there's never been any conversation, there's never been any interest either way. So, I'm glad we can put that to bed right now."
DeBoer became the focal point of speculation surrounding Penn State's coaching search after the program struck out on its prior potential candidates. The Nittany Lions' latest target was apparently BYU coach Kalani Sitake, but he signed an extension with the Cougars on Tuesday. Sitake joins a growing list of reported Penn State candidates who re-upped with their schools.
DeBoer finished with a 9-4 record last season, his first as the Crimson Tide's head coach. He rebounded with a 10-2 mark this year.
