Dolphins yet to decide DC Kevin Coyle's fate
Interim Miami Dolphins head coach Dan Campbell told reporters Wednesday he still hasn't decided if he wants to retain defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle, and offered no timetable for when he might come to a decision.
The Dolphins are on a bye week, so Campbell has a few days to figure things out. That said, he probably can't afford to spend much more time on this if he wants to have a new man in the job and his defense ready to go for Week 6.
The subtext here is that Campbell may have decided to move on from Coyle, but hasn't found a replacement yet. The Dolphins reportedly approached former Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz about the job, but were rebuffed.
Ex-Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith and ex-Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano are also rumored to have been contacted by the Dolphins.
