Wednesday's Goaltender Value Rankings
Here are theScore's goaltender value rankings for Wednesday, April 6:
Top Options
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Jimmy Howard (DET) | vs. PHI | 7 |
Cam Talbot (EDM) | vs. VAN | 7 |
Steve Mason (PHI) | at DET | 7 |
It's almost criminal that DFS sites require a goaltender for Wednesday night as the talent pool is extremely thin for this three-game slate. This trio of goalies take the top spots primarily due to the weakness of their fellow netminders rather than individual skill, record, or matchup.
On a slightly more positive note, Howard is 3-1 in his last four starts and has allowed exactly two goals in all four of those games. He also gets home ice advantage.
Opposing Howard, Mason comes with the heftiest price tag Wednesday. He was also lit up for five goals on 38 shots Sunday against Pittsburgh. But Mason had not surrendered more than two goals in the eight games leading up to his Sunday thrashing.
Mid-Tier Targets
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Jacob Markstrom (VAN) | at EDM | 6 |
Sergei Bobrovsky (CLB) | at TOR | 5 |
Nothing to See Here
Name | Opponent | Value |

Garret Sparks (TOR) | vs. CLB | 4 |
Sparks has allowed three goals in each of his last three starts, all of which were losses.
