Philip Rivers is ready for some NC State football.
The San Diego Chargers' star quarterback delivered a passionate speech during a visit to his alma mater for Saturday's spring game, telling Wolfpack players he wishes he could join them on the field.
Rivers was a four-year starter at NC State before he was selected with the No. 4 pick in the 2004 NFL Draft. Having racked up an impressive 13,484 yards over that stretch, he still owns the all-time passing record for both the school and conference.
