The Dallas Cowboys have signed safety Jeff Heath to a new four-year contract, Heath's agent told ESPN's Todd Archer.
Heath was tendered with a low restricted free-agent offer heading into the offseason, meaning another team could have signed him without surrendering compensation if the Cowboys elected not to match.
It's unclear whether he drew any interest elsewhere, though, and he now receives a long-term deal to take the place of the one-year tender.
Heath, a core special-teams contributor, has appeared in all but two games since joining the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He's coming off a season in which he also saw occasional work on the defensive side, tallying a career-high two interceptions in addition to his 25 tackles.
