Report: Giants, 49ers, Seahawks linked to Monroe
A market for Eugene Monroe's services appears to be taking shape just one day following his release from the Baltimore Ravens.
The veteran offensive tackle is generating interest from both the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers, while the Seattle Seahawks have held internal discussions, reports Josina Anderson of ESPN.
New York can likely be considered a front-runner now that he's officially a free agent. Monroe's release came after reported trade discussions with the Giants fell through, and the club believes there is a "decent chance" it can strike a deal, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.
The former first-round pick has started 90 games over the course of his seven-year career to this point. Though it's unclear whether interested teams would envision a position change, he's thought to be in search of a situation that will allow him to remain at left tackle.
