Report: Saints making strongest push to sign Anquan Boldin
Anquan Boldin's market seems to be taking shape with training camp just around the corner.
Joining several teams to show interest, the New Orleans Saints are making the strongest push to sign the veteran wide receiver, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Boldin, 35, is coming off a 2015 season in which he recorded 789 yards and four touchdowns as part of an underwhelming San Francisco 49ers offense.
Though his age and relative drop off in production likely hurt his value on the open market, it's possible his play would rebound as part of a strong offense like that of the Saints.
Boldin started every game over the 2013 and 2014 seasons, racking up a 168 receptions for 2,241 yards and 12 touchdowns.
If signed, the three-time Pro Bowler would presumably step into a primary role in three-receiver sets alongside Brandin Cooks and Willie Snead, while Brandon Coleman and second-round rookie Michael Thomas may find themselves pushed into depth roles.
