Cowboys eyeing contract extension with Frederick

Travis Frederick's early career dominance may soon be rewarded in the form of a lucrative contract extension.

The Dallas Cowboys will look to work on a new deal with their fourth-year center during training camp, executive vice president Stephen Jones told reporters Friday.

Frederick, a first-round pick in 2013, is heading into the final year of his rookie contract. The Cowboys will also have the ability to exercise a fifth-year option should extension talks carry on into the spring.

Whether an agreement comes during camp, or at some point closer to the offseason, Frederick has presumably positioned himself for a deal among the league's highest-paid interior lineman.

The Wisconsin product already earned himself two Pro Bowl appearances after each of the past two seasons for his work anchoring the NFL's most dominant five-man front.
