The Rams' first regular-season game after making the return to Los Angeles didn't exactly go as planned.
Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson, who played four-plus seasons with the Rams during their first stint in Southern California, is among those less than impressed with the shutout loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
"The city is happy," Dickerson said on NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" on Wednesday. "You know, the one thing about Los Angeles is you got to win. That's the No. 1 thing - you've got to win in that city. And what they showed Monday night was an embarrassment. As a football team, they got to pick themselves up for the Seattle Seahawks and kind of get it back together."
Dickerson cited the youth on the roster in expressing an understanding that everything may not come together immediately. But as the team looks to get the attention of a fan base that's been without football for two decades, winning needs to come sooner rather than later.
"I think that if they're (eventually) 2-8, it's going to be tough," Dickerson said. "I'm just going to be honest because in L.A. there's a lot of things to do - you can go to the beach, you can go to baseball games, Lakers games, Hollywood."
The Rams will look to break into the win column Sunday afternoon when they host the division-rival Seahawks for their home opener.
