Julio Jones is at least another week away from returning to the field.
The Atlanta Falcons wide receiver will miss a second consecutive game Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers as he continues to deal with a toe issue, head coach Dan Quinn announced Friday.
Jones has yet to practice since suffering the injury in Week 13, and any timeline for him to do so remains unclear.
Since he was believed to have a chance to play in the days leading up to both games, however, it's possible that Atlanta is simply being cautious with its star wideout.
Now 8-5 and in control of their own playoff destiny, the Falcons will try to ensure Jones is at full strength for January.
The 27-year-old produced at his now-expected level of dominance across the first 12 games of the season, recording 72 catches for 1,253 yards and five touchdowns.
