Texans' Miller ruled out vs. Titans
Houston Texans running back Lamar Miller has officially been ruled out for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Tennessee Titans.
Miller was held out of practice throughout the week after sitting out Christmas Eve with an ankle injury.
A second consecutive absence would typically be cause for concern, but the Texans are presumably giving Miller a full week of rest to prepare for the playoffs. Locked in as the No. 4 seed after clinching the AFC South, Houston doesn't have anything to play for in Week 17.
Barring any limitations to his workload as a result of the injury, Miller will return to his role as the featured ball-carrier and offensive centerpiece for the wild-card round next week.
Miller took 268 carries for 1,073 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games after joining the Texans as a free-agent signing from the Miami Dolphins this past offseason.
