NFL teams looking to bolster their defensive backfields are in luck.
After entering the scouting combine as one of the most highly touted position groups in a stacked draft class, the cornerbacks and safeties did not disappoint when they had the chance to take the field Monday.
Jalen Myrick led the way in the 40-yard dash with a 4.28-second run, while Fabian Moreau checked in at second with a 4.35.
Potential top cornerback Marshon Lattimore all but confirmed his status as a likely early first-round pick with a 4.36, and safety Obi Melifonwu followed up on an unbelievable showing in measurable drills with a 4.40.
Though checking in a few spots back, some of the most notable performances in the combine's main event came from a pair of this year's top safeties, Budda Baker and Jamal Adams.
Baker confirmed all evaluations about his elite athleticism with a run of 4.4, and Adams showed more than enough speed to complement his physical presence with a 4.56.
