Lattimore suffered injury during combine workout
Considered by many to be the top cornerback in a stacked class, Marshon Lattimore backed up those evaluations with a strong showing during Monday's combine workouts.
The impressive day was highlighted by a 4.36-second run in the 40-yard dash, but it wasn't all positive for the Ohio State star.
Clarifying a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, which had cited a source indicating he'd picked up a hamstring injury, Lattimore tweeted that he was dealing with a hip flexor issue.
Tweaks and muscle pulls are common in this type of setting, and they typically end up being nothing to worry about looking ahead to the draft. Schefter added in a follow-up to his initial report that Lattimore's ailment is not considered to be a serious issue and he's already expected to be ready for his Pro Day on March 23.
But with a history of hamstring issues, teams will have to make the medicals a significant factor in determining his potential early-round value in April.
Lattimore pulled in four interceptions across 13 games as a redshirt sophomore, his first and only season as a full-time starter, before declaring for this year's draft.
