Report: Patriots to re-sign Alan Branch on 2-year, $12M deal

The New England Patriots are finalizing a deal to re-sign impending free-agent defensive tackle Alan Branch to a two-year contract worth $12 million, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Branch's ability to line up and contribute at a variety of positions was critical to the success of New England's defensive front over the past few seasons.

The 32-year-old just enjoyed what may be the most productive season of his career in helping the Patriots to a Super Bowl title, recording 49 tackles and 1.5 sacks while starting all 16 games.
