NFL confirms 2017 regular-season schedule will be released Thursday
It's almost that time.
The NFL's complete regular-season schedule will be released Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET on NFL Network, the league announced Tuesday.
Detroit Lions president Rod Wood had seemingly let the plans slip during last week's media availability, but this marks the first confirmation from NFL officials.
More than any other sport, the NFL's annual schedule release generates a significant amount of hype heading into the fall. And deservedly so.
Already starved for football two months removed from the Super Bowl, fans are eager to plan out their trips and see when their team will be under the bright lights in prime time.
Regular-season opponents for all 2017 teams were finalized in January, and the NFL announced its preseason schedule April 10.
