Ravens' Wallace thinks Perriman will be among NFL's best WRs in 2017

A fellow Baltimore Ravens wide receiver is expecting a major breakout from Breshad Perriman this fall.

Confident that his young teammate can rebound from a slow start to his career, Mike Wallace even went as far as to say that the 2015 first-rounder will soon establish himself among the NFL's top pass-catchers.

"He's going to surprise a lot of people," Wallace said, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN. "He's going to be one of the top receivers in the league this year."

Perriman was limited to just 33 receptions for 499 yards across 16 games in 2016, his first NFL action after missing his entire rookie year with knee issues.

A meteoric rise like the one Wallace predicts is a lot to expect, but the 23-year-old undoubtedly has upside as a big-play threat.

Even if Perriman just emerges as a starting-caliber player, it would be a significant development for a Baltimore offense that's all the more desperate for playmakers following the retirement of Steve Smith Sr. this offseason.

Perriman could be in line for such a role opposite Wallace in 2017, and finally getting a full training camp under his belt should go a long way toward establishing a rapport with veteran quarterback Joe Flacco.
