Experiment over: Cardinals moving Andre Ellington back to RB

That didn't last long.

Just weeks after moving Andre Ellington from running back to wide receiver, the Arizona Cardinals are already having him transition back to his old position, head coach Bruce Arians told reporters Wednesday.

Ellington always flashed his greatest impact catching passes, but the coaching staff didn't waste much time calling off the experiment.

Third-round pick Chad Williams joining Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown, J.J. Nelson, and Jaron Brown gives the Cardinals a fairly strong group of receivers, and the need for backfield depth is abundantly clear.

As Ellington rejoins his former running mates, the sixth-round pick will be expected to compete for some sort of rotational role behind superstar runner David Johnson. Also in the mix for in that spot are Kerwynn Williams and fifth-rounder T.J. Logan.
