Romo a co-favorite in return to celebrity golf tournament
Now healthy and enjoying the luxury of the wide-open schedule that follows retirement, Tony Romo will return to the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament this weekend.
Even after a four-year layoff, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback is right there alongside a two-time defending champion as an odds-on betting favorite heading in.
Romo and former MLB pitcher Mark Mulder are atop the star-studded field with 3-1 odds at the local Harveys Lake Tahoe Hotel and Casino sportsbook, according to David Purdum of ESPN.
Among the other celebrities taking part in this year's event are Stephen Curry, Jerry Rice, Aaron Rodgers, Justin Timberlake, Charles Woodson, Steve Young, and Charles Barkley.
For those who have witnessed Barkley's disaster of a golf swing, it probably won't come as a surprise that he's been given virtually zero chance to take home the trophy.
Checking in at the bottom of the odds list, one slot below Larry the Cable Guy, the NBA legend faces 6,000-1 odds.
