Tony Romo may still be a few weeks out from his official debut as a football analyst, but he and his new broadcast partner were busy working during the NFL's preseason kickoff Thursday night.
Setting up shop in a separate booth for the Hall of Fame Game between the Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys in Canton, Ohio, Romo and longtime CBS play-by-play man Jim Nantz held a practice session.
The move to broadcasting seemed natural for Romo after his offseason retirement, as he was one of the league's more charismatic players for the better part of his 14-year career. And CBS seems to agree.
Rather than getting his feet wet as part of a different crew, Romo replaces Phil Simms alongside Nantz as the color commentator on the "A" team for CBS.
That means Romo will not only call the network's top matchup every Sunday afternoon, but each of its five scheduled Thursday Night Football games as well.
