Following a terrible three quarters that saw Scott Tolzien throw two pick-6s, the Indianapolis Colts have turned to newly acquired Jacoby Brissett at quarterback for the final frame against the Los Angeles Rams.
Tolzien got the start after Andrew Luck was ruled out due to injury earlier in the week, and immediately struggled against the physical Rams defense. The veteran backup's first pass of the game was intercepted by Trumaine Johnson and returned for a touchdown, putting the Colts at an early 10-0 disadvantage.
It wouldn't get any better in the second half, as Tolzien would be victimized by another pick-6, this time by Lamarcus Joyner, to see the Rams take a 37-3 lead.
Chuck Pagano then decided to turn to Brissett, who was obtained via trade from the New England Patriots last week. The second-year player would lead the Colts to a touchdown in his first series.
Tolzien finished 9-of-18 for 128 yards with the two interceptions for the day.
