Report: Packers' Cobb could miss start of camp with ankle injury
It appears Randall Cobb could miss the start of training camp, as a source told Michael Cohen of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that the Green Bay Packers receiver is recovering from an ankle injury.
Cobb was seen at the airport late Sunday night in a walking boot he described as "temporary," but wouldn't comment on whether he had undergone surgery for the ailment or not.
The veteran wideout took part in organized team activities at the start of the month, so it's unclear when his injury occurred or how severe it could be. With the season opener still over two months away, Cobb isn't expected to miss any game action.
With Jordy Nelson now in Oakland, Cobb is slated for a bigger role in the Packers' offense this season, and should form one of the NFC's best tandems with Davante Adams.
