Bills' McCoy on Josh Allen: 'He's special that's for sure'

By making Josh Allen the highest drafted quarterback in franchise history, it's pretty clear the Buffalo Bills view the former Wyoming standout as the future centerpiece.

It's not expected that Allen will see much action during his rookie season, but the 6-foot-5, 237-pounder is already making a positive impact on coaches and teammates.

One player he's impressed is star running back LeSean McCoy.

"He's good. He's smart. He's got a lot to learn of course," McCoy told Dominic LoVallo of the team's website. "He's thrown some passes that shouldn't have been thrown, but other than that, he's got a strong arm and is very intelligent. He's special that's for sure."

McCoy, who admitted he's not usually a fan of rookies, continued talking about Allen's potential, even placing his talent in the same category as last year's star rookie Tre'Davious White.

"Last year if I was to name the best rookie out there it would've been Tre' (White)," McCoy said. "Tre' is really good. A lot of guys who are rookies are not like him. The quarterback (Allen) is on that level."

At just 22 years of age, Allen will likely sit and learn the professional game behind AJ McCarron and Nathan Peterman this season, but, following this year, his talent will likely be too overwhelming to keep off the field.
