Report: Browns' Burnett done for season with torn Achilles
Cleveland Browns safety Morgan Burnett will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn Achilles, according to Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal.
Burnett suffered the injury during the team's 21-7 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday.
Browns defensive end Myles Garrett received a season-long suspension for his actions during a fight in Thursday night's game, and the team also won't have suspended defensive end Larry Ogunjobi for its next contest.
Burnett, who signed a three-year, $14.35-million contract with the Browns during the offseason, posted 41 combined tackles, one interception, and two sacks through eight starts in 2019.
Cleveland has averaged 216.8 passing yards allowed per game this year, which is the sixth-best mark in the NFL. The club has veterans Juston Burris and Eric Murray as safety options in the depth chart.
