49ers, Seahawks, Packers clinch playoff spot after Rams' Week 15 loss
The Dallas Cowboys' win over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 15 helped more than just the NFC East club's playoff chances.
The San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and Green Bay Packers all clinched a playoff spot after the Rams' defeat Sunday.
Despite losing at home following the Atlanta Falcons' late comeback, San Francisco is returning to the postseason for the first time since 2013. The 49ers currently hold an 11-3 record.
Seattle, which beat the Carolina Panthers in Week 15 while improving to 11-3 this season, secured a playoff spot for the second consecutive year. The Seahawks have now made the postseason in seven of the past eight campaigns.
After Week 15, the Seahawks retook the NFC West lead because of their head-to-head matchup advantage over the 49ers. The division rivals will face off again in the final week of the regular season.
Green Bay jumped to 11-3 this season with its third straight victory, this time beating the Chicago Bears on Sunday. The Packers are returning to the playoffs following two years away from the postseason.
Seven teams have now officially clinched playoff spots in 2019.
