Washington quarterback Jacob Eason will forego his senior season and enter the 2020 NFL Draft, the junior announced Thursday.

The 22-year-old signal-caller projects as a potential first-round pick.

"The opportunity to play quarterback in the NFL has been a lifelong dream, and my heart is set on the challenge ahead," Eason said.

The Washington native's decision to turn pro comes one day after he helped the Huskies beat Boise State in the Las Vegas Bowl. He finished the contest with 210 passing yards and one touchdown.

Eason completed 64% of his passes for 3,123 yards and 23 touchdowns against eight interceptions in his first season at Washington. He played two years at Georgia before sitting out the 2018 season due to his decision to transfer.

Eight Huskies were selected in the 2019 NFL Draft, the school's best mark since 1998.
