Kingsbury: Lamb, Jeudy, Ruggs 'definitely in play' for Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals are considering taking advantage of the loaded wide receiver class with the eighth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
"I'm an offensive coach who was a quarterback, I'm always looking for a fast, outside guy," second-year head coach Kliff Kingsbury said, according to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN. "We're going to do what's best for our organization, but those three guys are definitely in play."
Kingsbury's "three guys" are Alabama's Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs III, and Oklahoma's CeeDee Lamb, who all met with the Cardinals last week during the combine.
A dynamic all-around receiver would fit well in Arizona's current offensive unit, according to general manager Steve Keim.
"We can certainly use an outside receiver, especially one that can take the top off or could be physical in coverage and go get the ball in the air," Keim said.
Earlier in February, quarterback Kyler Murray said if the Cardinals selected Lamb, his former teammate with the Sooners, he'd be "very fond of that pick."
The Cardinals posted a 5-10-1 record in their first year under Murray and Kingsbury in 2019. Veteran wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald led the club in receptions (75) and receiving yards (804), and he tied for the team lead in touchdowns (four).
Arizona landed Lamb with the eighth overall pick on theScore's post-combine mock draft.
