Report: Broncos, Titans, Bills interested in D.J. Reader

The Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans, and Buffalo Bills are among the teams interested in impending free-agent defensive lineman D.J. Reader, a source told Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

Barring a sudden change, Reader isn't expected to return to the Houston Texans, Wilson reports. The 25-year-old will likely command at least $11 million annually on the open market. The Texans offered Reader a new deal last offseason worth $6 million annually, Wilson adds.

Reader, a fifth-round selection in 2016, has played his entire career in Houston. He's one of the NFL's most versatile defensive linemen, and the veteran took a step forward as a pass-rusher last season, establishing career highs in tackles (52) and sacks (2.5).

The Broncos, Titans, and Bills all finished in the bottom half of the league in QB pressure percentage per dropback in 2019, according to Pro Football Reference.

Denver defensive linemen Derek Wolfe and Shelby Harris are both impending free agents this offseason. Buffalo, meanwhile, might lose breakout defensive tackle Jordan Phillips during free agency.
