The Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers are among the teams willing to trade down in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday.
The Panthers, who own the No. 7 pick, could potentially be in a position to select versatile linebacker/safety Isaiah Simmons, who could help fill the void left behind by the retired Luke Kuechly. However, Carolina has several other needs - mostly on the defensive side of the ball - which could be addressed by gaining more selections with a trade down.
The Cardinals, who have the eighth selection, moved their second-rounder as part of the DeAndre Hopkins trade this offseason, so they may be looking to stockpile more picks. Arizona has needs along the offensive line and the defensive line, as well as at cornerback.
The Atlanta Falcons, who hold the 16th pick, are reportedly one team outside the top 10 that's expressed interest in moving up on Thursday.
