Titans, Siemian agree to 1-year deal
The Tennessee Titans and Trevor Siemian agreed to a one-year contract, the quarterback's agent, Mike McCartney, announced Wednesday.
Siemian appeared in one game for the New York Jets early in 2019, filling in for quarterback Sam Darnold. He suffered a season-ending ankle injury after just six pass attempts.
The 28-year-old, who backed up Kirk Cousins on the Minnesota Vikings in 2018, enjoyed his best career moments with the Denver Broncos from 2015 to 2017. He made 25 starts over that span, averaging 3,639 yards and 19 touchdowns against 15 interceptions per 16 games played.
Siemian was the Broncos' third-string quarterback in their Super Bowl 50 title run as a seventh-round rookie.
The Titans also agreed to terms with tight end Geoff Swaim on Wednesday, sources told Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. Swaim appeared in six games with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019, amassing 13 receptions.
Meanwhile, Tennessee waived rookie signal-caller Cole McDonald, whom they selected in the seventh round last April, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
