Report: Thomas 'not well-liked' by Ravens players

Free-agent safety Earl Thomas was "not well-liked" by his former Baltimore Ravens teammates, according to Peter King of NBC Sports.

Thomas reportedly had a pattern of being late and was recently confronted over his readiness after committing assignment errors during a practice session.

The Ravens released the veteran defender Sunday after they sent him home for an altercation with fellow safety Chuck Clark during practice Friday. Most of the Ravens players supported Clark following the fight, King adds.

Thomas signed a four-year, $55-million free-agent deal with the Ravens in March 2019. He was set to earn $15 million in 2020, including $10 million in guarantees, which Baltimore is expected to avoid after releasing the defender "for personal conduct that has adversely affected" the team.

The 31-year-old's guaranteed base salary would've become null if he was suspended prior to his release for conduct detrimental to the team, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Thomas, a seven-time Pro Bowler, racked up 49 tackles, two interceptions, and two sacks through 15 games in his only season with the Ravens last year.
