49ers' Deebo Samuel to miss at least 3 games after being placed on IR
The San Francisco 49ers have placed wide receiver Deebo Samuel on injured reserve, the team announced Saturday.
Samuel will subsequently miss at least three games, including San Francisco's season opener against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
49ers general manager John Lynch said at the start of training camp that the 2019 second-rounder could miss "some games" after he underwent surgery on his broken foot in June.
Samuel led all San Francisco wide receivers with 57 receptions and 802 yards as a rookie last season. The 24-year-old also racked up three receiving touchdowns and three scores on the ground.
The 49ers recently listed first-round rookie wideout Brandon Aiyuk as questionable for their season opener due to a hamstring injury.
San Francisco also features Kendrick Bourne, Dante Pettis, Trent Taylor, and Richie James at wide receiver.
