The Arizona Cardinals have reached an agreement to sign free-agent cornerback Prince Amukamara, reports ESPN's Dan Graziano.

The deal is pending COVID-19 testing results, which is part of the physicals that free agents must take before signing a contract, Graziano adds.

Amukamara isn't expected to pass his physical in time to suit up for the Cardinals' game against the New York Jets on Sunday.

The 31-year-old was released from the Las Vegas Raiders in August after signing a one-year deal with the team in May. He has yet to take the field this season but appeared in 15 games for the Chicago Bears in 2019, amassing 53 tackles and 10 pass breakups.

A first-round pick in 2011, Amukamara spent his first five NFL seasons with the New York Giants, where he won Super Bowl XLVI as a rookie. He played one year with the Jacksonville Jaguars before spending the past three campaigns with the Bears.

Arizona's depth chart at cornerback also features veteran Patrick Peterson, second-year pro Byron Murphy, and the recently acquired Dre Kirkpatrick. The 2-2 Cardinals have intercepted just one pass through four games this season.
