49ers' Garoppolo, Kittle injured late vs. Seahawks
The San Francisco 49ers lost three key starters during a defeat to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday when Jimmy Garoppolo, George Kittle, and Tevin Coleman exited due to injuries.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said Kittle suffered a foot injury, but initial X-rays didn't reveal a fracture, according to ESPN's Nick Wagoner. The tight end will undergo further testing Monday.
Kittle missed time earlier this season, sitting out two games after injuring his knee in Week 1.
San Francisco is also waiting until Monday for further information on the severity of Garoppolo's ankle injury, according to Cam Inman of the San Jose Mercury.
He struggled before departing in the fourth quarter on Sunday, throwing for just 84 yards with one interception. Nick Mullens replaced him and played well in relief, throwing for 238 yards and two touchdowns.
Garoppolo suffered an ankle injury in Week 2 against the New York Jets, missing two games as a result, and the ailment has hampered him ever since. He briefly returned in Week 5, but Garoppolo exited again due to the injury.
Coleman, meanwhile, reaggravated his knee injury on Sunday, and he was later ruled out. The 49ers are awaiting further testing to determine his status moving forward, according to Wagoner.
San Francisco now faces a short week to prepare for a game against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football.
