Ezekiel Elliott active vs. Steelers
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is officially active for Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Elliott has been battling hamstring troubles and his workload remains unclear.
Elliott suffered the injury last Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles and was a limited participant in practice all week. Head coach Mike McCarthy alluded to making the rusher go through a pregame workout to ensure his availability.
If Dallas reduces the 25-year-old's workload due to the ailment, backup Tony Pollard will likely receive more carries.
Pollard has rushed for 149 yards this season while averaging 3.9 yards per carry.
The three-time Pro Bowler hasn't had the season most have come to expect. Elliott has yet to eclipse 100 rushing yards in a game and has fumbled five times.
The 2-6 Cowboys will also be down to their fourth quarterback of the season Sunday, starting Garrett Gilbert against the undefeated Steelers.
