Lions' Swift, Golladay ruled out vs. Panthers
The Detroit Lions will be without two key offensive members Sunday with the team ruling both rookie rusher D'Andre Swift and wide receiver Kenny Golladay out due to injuries.
Swift is dealing with a concussion while Golladay will miss his third consecutive game with a hip ailment.
The rookie tailback totaled 149 yards from scrimmage during his first career start last week against the Washington Football Team.
Swift has seen his volume increase as the season's progressed. The 21-year-old has played 30 or more snaps in each of his last three contests, including a season-high 43 last Sunday.
Detroit is expected to lean on Adrian Peterson and Kerryon Johnson with Swift sidelined. Peterson leads the team with 371 rushing yards, while Johnson has recorded 112 yards on the ground.
Golladay has only played five games thus far and has tallied 338 receiving yards.
The Lions have also ruled out wide receiver Danny Amendola for Sunday's bout against the Carolina Panthers.
