Report: Daniel Jones expected to start vs. Cardinals
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is expected to start Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, according to The Athletic's Dan Duggen.
Jones missed the Giants' previous game due to a hamstring injury but returned to practice this week, participating in a limited capacity. A final check on the quarterback's hamstring Saturday also went well, Duggan adds.
Colt McCoy started in Jones' place in Week 13 in an upset victory over the Seattle Seahawks. In his first start of the season, McCoy threw for 105 yards and one touchdown. The veteran quarterback will presumably return to backup duties.
The 5-7 Giants are currently in first place in the NFC East, holding a tiebreaker over the Washington Football Team.
Jones has completed just over 63% of his passes this season but has thrown more interceptions (9) than touchdowns (8) thus far.
