Jaguars turning back to Minshew vs. Ravens
Minshew Mania is back in Jacksonville.
The Jaguars will start Gardner Minshew at quarterback against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 15, head coach Doug Marrone announced Monday, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Minshew hasn't started since injuring his thumb in Week 7 but made his first appearance following the ailment in Week 14, replacing Mike Glennon in the fourth quarter with the Jaguars down big against the Tennessee Titans.
Glennon and Jake Luton each started three games with Minshew sidelined, combining for a 0-6 record.
Minshew has completed 65.1% of his pass attempts for 2,033 yards and 14 touchdowns against five interceptions through eight appearances this season. The 24-year-old was reportedly in danger of being benched due to his struggling performances earlier this year.
The 1-12 Jaguars, who've now lost 12 in a row, are in the mix for the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Jacksonville would pick second if the season ended today, behind the winless New York Jets.
