Saints' Thomas ruled out vs. Chiefs
Drew Brees will return for the New Orleans Saints' much-anticipated matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, but the veteran quarterback's top wide receiver won't be on the field.
The Saints ruled out wideout Michael Thomas for Sunday's game, according to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football.
Thomas didn't practice this week due to an ankle injury, and he'll now miss his seventh game this season.
The 2019 Offensive Player of the Year has appeared in seven games this campaign, racking up 40 catches for 438 yards. He has yet to score a touchdown.
Thomas also battled ankle and hamstring ailments earlier in the 2020 season.
Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, running back Alvin Kamara, and tight end Jared Cook will likely be the Saints' primary pass-catchers against the Chiefs. Kamara leads the club in both catches (77) and receiving yards (699) yards, while Cook has recorded a team-high six touchdown receptions this season.
