Bengals' Allen ruled out, Finley to start on MNF vs. Steelers
The Cincinnati Bengals will turn to quarterback Ryan Finley for Monday night's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers after head coach Zac Taylor announced Brandon Allen will miss the game due to a knee injury, according to ESPN's Ben Baby.
Allen was injured during last week's bout with the Dallas Cowboys and didn't return. Finley attempted only two passes in relief of Allen.
Finley, a fourth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, has familiarity with the Bengals' offense after starting three games last season. The second-year passer struggled during his three starts in 2019, completing under 50% of his passes and averaging just 5.4 yards per pass attempt.
Finley will be Cincinnati's third starting signal-caller this campaign as the team deals with yet another injury to its quarterback room. Joe Burrow, this year's No. 1 overall pick, was lost to a season-ending knee injury in Week 11.
The Bengals will be up against an 11-2 Steelers squad that has lost two in a row. Pittsburgh claims the second-ranked passing defense and has allowed just 18.2 points per game this year.
