Rams' McVay after upset loss to Jets: 'I'm sick to my stomach'
The Los Angeles Rams suffered a 23-20 loss to the previously winless New York Jets on Sunday, and head coach Sean McVay says the outcome is embarrassing.
"It's going to be embarrassing," McVay said postgame, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "I'm sick to my stomach. It was very humbling. But we're going to move forward."
The Jets entered Week 15 averaging 14.1 points per game and allowing 30.2 points per week, but the Rams struggled to move the ball.
Los Angeles was held to three points during the first half, and its 20 total points were New York's second-fewest allowed in a game this year.
Overall, the Rams amassed 303 yards, their worst performance since Week 4.
"I'll go back, look at this and be honest with the mistakes I made and where I can be better," McVay said, according to Greg Beacham of The Associated Press. "This is not the result or not the type of result we expected, but that's life. That's sports."
The loss drops the Rams to 9-5 this season, moving them to second in the NFC West behind the 10-4 Seattle Seahawks.
