The NFL has moved the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Football Team's Week 17 matchup to Sunday Night Football, the league announced.

Washington will clinch the NFC East title and its first postseason appearance since 2015 with a victory over the Eagles.

However, a loss would result in the winner of the game between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants, which is scheduled to kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET next Sunday, being crowned division champions.

Washington sits atop the division with a 6-9 record but has lost two in a row after suffering a rash of injuries.

Alex Smith missed the last two contests due to a calf ailment but the team is optimistic about his return for Week 17. Taylor Heinicke will start if Smith can't go following Dwayne Haskins' release.
