Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was named the Walter Payton Man of the Year on Saturday.
The award recognizes excellence on the field and in the community. Wilson will receive a Walter Payton patch to wear on his jersey for the remainder of his career.
Wilson and his wife, Ciara, donated $1 million to Feeding America - the largest hunger-relief organization in the U.S. - and partnered with Wheels Up to combat food insecurity.
The 32-year-old signal-caller also encouraged people to vote, partnering with the I Am a Voter campaign before the 2020 election.
