Former NFL and Notre Dame defensive lineman Louis Nix III died at the age of 29, the school announced Sunday.
Nix was reported missing Wednesday by his family, according to ESPN's Michael DiRocco. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced Saturday evening that Nix was located but didn't disclose his condition.
He was part of the Notre Dame team that marched to an undefeated regular season in 2012. Nix led the team's defensive line with 50 tackles during the campaign.
The Houston Texans drafted Nix in the third round in 2014. He played three seasons in the NFL, spending time with the Texans, New York Giants, Washington Football Team, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
