NFL schedules Packers-Browns, Cardinals-Colts for Christmas Day
The NFL will gift fans two games on Christmas Day this year, including a contest at Lambeau Field.
The Green Bay Packers are scheduled to host the Cleveland Browns for a Dec. 25 matchup at 4:30 p.m. ET, while the Arizona Cardinals will welcome the Indianapolis Colts at 8:15 p.m. ET. The doubleheader is set for Week 16.
This will mark the first time the Packers play on Christmas Day since they defeated the Chicago Bears on Dec. 25, 2011. The Browns have never played a Christmas Day game, while the Packers have done so twice.
Cleveland and Green Bay last met during the 2017 season, when the Packers squeaked out a 27-21 victory in overtime. This year's game could see Baker Mayfield duel Aaron Rodgers, though Rodgers' future with Green Bay is unclear due to reported friction with the organization.
The Cardinals and Colts last met in 2017, as well, with Arizona also emerging victorious in overtime. Kyler Murray and the Cardinals are coming off an 8-8 campaign in 2020, while the Colts are looking to build on last year's 11-5 showing after acquiring Carson Wentz this offseason.
The NFL has staged five Christmas Day games since 2016.
