Browns' Stefanski: Beckham looked good in 1st practice since ACL tear

Odell Beckham Jr. joined his teammates at practice Tuesday for the first time since tearing his ACL last season.

The Cleveland Browns receiver participated in a limited capacity and didn't sport a brace or sleeve on his knee. His work drew the praise of head coach Kevin Stefanski.

"He looked good to me," Stefanski said, according to Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal. "He did some individual drills. He did routes on air. He's still progressing through. I think he's seven or eight months post-ACL surgery, and he looks a lot different than I did seven or eight months post-ACL."

Stefanski's unsure, though, if Beckham will be a full participant for training camp in July.

"We'll see," Stefanski added. "He looked good today, Day 1 of minicamp, and then we'll progress and make sure that we're having obviously dialogue with the player, with the training staff, the medical staff, etc."

The Browns head coach isn't the only member of the team impressed with Beckham's recovery. Jarvis Landry said Saturday that his teammate looks "even better" than last year.

Beckham tore his ACL during a Week 7 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals last year. He was among a group of teammates who worked out with quarterback Baker Mayfield earlier this month.

The Browns acquired Beckham in 2019. He recorded over 1,000 receiving yards in his first season with the club before being limited to just 319 yards across seven games last season.
