Titans' Vrabel to be 'cautious' with Julio as WR remains sidelined
Tennessee Titans star wide receiver Julio Jones left practice Monday due to an undisclosed injury and hasn't returned to the field since.
Head coach Mike Vrabel said Wednesday that his plan moving forward is to be cautious with Jones, who's coming off an injury-plagued 2020 campaign.
"We're going to be probably cautious with Julio, so the Julio watch will continue," Vrabel said. "We'll have a plan for him, but I would anticipate that we'd be all on the same page by the time the season started. You're going to see him out there at times, you're going to see him on the other field. He's played a lot of games, and that's kind of where we're going to be each and every day."
Jones joined the Titans this offseason through a trade from the Atlanta Falcons. The seven-time Pro Bowler, who's entering his 11th NFL season, battled a hamstring issue in 2020 that limited him to just nine appearances, his lowest number of games in a single season since 2013 (five).
The 32-year-old said in June that injuries wouldn't slow him down in 2021.
Jones established himself as one of the NFL's elite wideouts since entering the league as the sixth overall pick in 2011. He racked up 848 receptions for 12,896 yards and 60 touchdowns over 135 regular-season appearances with the Falcons.
