Steelers' Haden seeking extension
Joe Haden's agent Drew Rosenhaus has approached the Pittsburgh Steelers regarding an extension for the cornerback, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
"Joe wants to finish his career with the Steelers if possible," Rosenhaus said.
The 32-year-old is entering the final year of his deal and is set to earn $7 million in base salary in 2021, according to Spotrac.
The veteran expressed his desire to get a new pact done, but Haden understands he may need to wait until outside linebacker T.J. Watt receives an extension.
"I would rather have a contract (for) more than this year because I want to end my career here," Haden told The Athletic's Mark Kaboly. "We will see what happens, but we want to get T.J. Watt signed first, obviously. He’s the main priority."
Haden has spent the last four seasons as the Steelers' top cornerback. Pittsburgh added him shortly before the 2017 campaign following his release from the Cleveland Browns.
Haden has made 56 starts for the Steelers while recording 10 interceptions and 48 passes defensed.
